St. Paul’s UCC, Oakville, Family Registers
Some churches, like St. Paul’s UCC in Oakville, kept family registers. These are summaries of nuclear families—parents and children—and the church events, such as baptisms, confirmations, marriages, and deaths, in which they are mentioned. If an event occurred outside the church’s location, it may or may not be recorded.
The index we are providing here just contains the names of male heads of household. It is NOT an every-name index. We have also included the earliest date found on the register for each family. That date may refer to any member of the family. We have included it only to place each family in a time frame, in case there are people with identical names.
