Mary Hrach was born on 1 May 1857 in Cháštovice (Krastiowice) near Radomyšl (Strakonice District) in Bohemia to Joseph Hrach. Her mother’s name is unknown.

According to the Czech Immigration Passenger Lists by Leo Baca, Marie Hrach was twenty-five years old in Bohemia when she departed from Bremen on the ship Neckar. The ship arrived in New York on 3 April 1882. The record indicates Mary’s destination was St. Louis, Missouri.

Mary married Lawrence Trcka and had six children: Anna (Trcka) Kernbach, Catharina, Thomas, Mary (Trcka) Hrebec, Wenceslaus, and Bess (Trcka) Horner. Mary enjoyed reading and crocheting. She attended St. John Nepomuk Church in St. Louis.

The 1930 census indicates Mary Trcka lived at 4138 Juniata with her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Albert Hrebec. Mary was seventy-two years old, born in Bohemia, and arrived in the United States in 1885.

Mary died on 16 September 1937 at the age of eighty. Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery holds the remains of both Mary and her husband, Lawrence.
