Lawrent Trcka was born on 10 August 1857 to Tomas Trcka and Katerina Stary living in Poderište near Netolice in the Prachatice District of Bohemia.

On 29 September 1885, St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in St. Louis, was the site of the marriage of Mary Hrach, age twenty-eight to Lawrent Trcka, who was also twenty-eight. Witnesses were John Trcka, a tailor, and John Trcka, a tailor. Perhaps this was a father and son with the same name?

The 1920 census indicates Lawrence, who was also a tailor, had immigrated to the U.S. in 1881 and had naturalized in 1893. Mary had immigrated in 1884 and had naturalized in 1896.

Lawrent and Mary had six children: Anastasia, born on 20 August 1886; Catharina, born on 12 October 1887 and died 18 August 1888; Thomas born 9 December 1888; Mary born 13 October 1890; Wenceslaus, born 19 August 1892 and died on 2 July 1893; and Beata “Bess,” born on 23 February 1896.

The 1889–1890 St. Louis city directory listed Lawrence as a tailor living at 1842 S. 13th Street. The 1900 city directory shows Lawrence as a tailor living at 911 Allen Avenue. In 1920 only Mary with Clarence and Bessie Horner were living with Lawrence at 2117 South 9th Street.

Lawrence Trcka died on 12 April 1924 with burial at Sts. Peter and Paul’s Cemetery. Survivors included daughters Anna Kernbach, Mae Hrebec, and Bessie Horner.
