The Chesed Shel Emeth Society realized there was a need for a cemetery where Jewish deceased who were not converted by Orthodox rabbis could be buried. On 1 May 2011, the society opened a new cemetery within the confines of Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery (New) (C09) on White Road in Chesterfield. The society is providing the same services for Beth Shalom as for the current cemetery.
The concept of establishing an independent, separate new cemetery permits the burial of not only those born of Jewish faith, but those converted by Reform, Conservative, Reconstructionist, as well as Orthodox, rabbis. It is governed by its own covenants and is physically in its own section, centrally positioned within Chesed Shel Emeth.
For more information on the original cemetery, see Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery (Old) (C08)
