History

Established in 1888; closed in 2000

Salem Church was founded in 1888 as a German congregation, the Reformierte Salems-Gemeinde, part of the Reformed church in the United States. They constructed a church at 14th and Sullivan in St. Louis City. Faith Church was founded in 1943 as a mission congregation by the Evangelical and Reformed Church. They occupied a converted horse barn in Jennings. The two congregations merged in 1949. They used the Faith location in Jennings, building a new church on the site in 1955. The congregation closed and sold the building in 2000.
