Originally thought to be in the Port Royal area of Franklin County, family records indicate that is not the case. Located on private property, this family cemetery is in Franklin County but access is only available via St. Louis County, and it is not in Port Royal. It has been known as Old Soldier’s, Walter, and Paubel Cemetery over the years. Only one military stone was visible when information was recorded in 1996, and it was lying on the ground. However, that stone appears to have been lifted, and when the cemetery was photographed in 2022, there was an additional standing stone.
