The March Meeting, Saturday, 14 March, at the St. Louis County Library Headquarter is cancelled.

The meetings, co-sponsored by the St. Louis Genealogical Society and the St. Louis County Library, are free and open to the public.

Jake Eubanks, assistant manager of the History & Genealogy Department at St. Louis County Library Headquarters, will be our speaker for “More than Checkmarks: Finding Female Ancestors.” Prior to 1850, only heads of households were recorded by name on federal census records. Females appeared as checkmarks. Uncovering female ancestors means working harder and thinking more creatively about what constitutes evidence. Learn research strategies to resolve the question, “Who was she?”

Please Note: Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and the meeting will start promptly at 10 a.m.
