1. St. Louis History Through Maps: Emily Jaycox
In its earliest days, St. Louis fit roughly where the Arch grounds are today. Follow the city’s growth from a small village to a modern metropolis using historic maps to illustrate St. Louis’s growth from a steamboat port to a railway hub, and a World’s Fair site to a twentieth-century city with a newly re-imagined riverfront.

2. Finding Your Ancestors at the Library & Research Center: Dennis Northcott
The Library & Research Center holds a wealth of resources that tell the story of our St. Louis ancestors. City directories, military records, company newsletters, school yearbooks, historic photographs, and newspapers are just some of the sources explored in this entertaining and informative look at the genealogical treasures that could shed some light on your personal history.

3. Depression-Era St. Louis: Legacies on the Landscape: Emily Jaycox
Many of the St. Louis landmarks have their roots in Depression-era projects built as part of the New Deal. Some of these projects are visible today; others are still with us but are invisible to the eye. From parks and public buildings to tunnels and maps, learn about the variety of these projects and how they continue to shape the city’s landscape.

4. If These Walls Could Talk: Researching Your House’s History: Dennis Northcott
Whether you live in a Victorian townhouse in Lafayette Square, a Central West End mansion, or a bungalow in South City, your home as a history to tell. When was it built? Who used to live there, and what were their lives like? Learn how to research the history of your St. Louis home.
